Shoes and Tags

I walked in your shoes
Not enough
To understand
Why?
You didn’t care
To walk in mine
Why?
You didn’t care
To try me on
For size
Why?
Not remove the tags
I was a return
From the beginning
Even as I thought
You enjoyed me
As the gift I tried
To be
I walked in your shoes
Not long enough
Because you never
Allowed me enough
Of you

  1. I love poetry,
And on that note I’ll respond to your last post here. Lol. I don’t have twitter and there were no place for comments. I love reading poetry primarily. I love the way poem can mean so many things depending on the reader.
Each new thing you add be it pictures or sound give the reader one more thing that defines it. I prefer only reading to avoid that and only use my brain and imagination yet I also like the other additions , I am just aware it changes the experience

    1. This is such a wonderful response! First I have to apologize for comments being disabled on the last post, that has been resolved. However
I am so thankful for your thoughts! I totally agree about the power of reading poetry without distraction. I’m often shocked how some of my readers respond one way to one poem, and nothing on others, but then later on the same poem I’ll get much more reactions from those same people on a different day.
Our lives continuously change, and the needs we have for comfort, laughter, or what have you can be completely different depending on our daily circumstances. Thank you so much for your response, and also thank you for the heads up on the comments for my other post!

      1. Yeah! I’m so thankful you brought it up. I usually have them enabled, I’m wondering if WordPress changed something because of the embed link I included. I will be watching for that more closely moving on.
